Worth a look ?

"Matter of Fact is on the ABC News Channel at 9pm, Monday to Thursday."

I assume that it takes the place of Late Line.

I agree with you Rumpy, its worth a look.

Didn't see it last night, but was turned off watching it because it is hosted by Stan Grant. He tends to dominate interviews by prefacing questions with his own lengthy opinions and background research, which results in less time for the interviewee to respond.  I find that extremely irritating because I want to hear what the interviewee has to say.

He did that last night too, but managed to hold it together reasonably well, and the interviewees were good. I didn't really like the three to one ratio though.

45 minutes is too long.

I watched Matter of Fact last night.

It would be an interesting show if Stan Grant didn't try to dominate the conversation all the time.

He really annoyed me when he kept interrupting the woman doing the book reviews.

Agreed.

It's not his opinion that matters.

A good Q&A last night I thought, except that Chris Richardson looked uncharacteristically flustered and dseemed to have trouble getting his point across.

It was good to see diverse points of the economy discussed in a civil manner. Good start to the year.

Anyone going to watch the series about the silver bodgie Bob Hawke tonight ?

After what he did to Hazel and reports of his booze affected behaviour  I'm thinking that he was a good PM, but not a great person so I don't think I'll bother.

I'm planning to watch the doco about Hawke.

He's no angel that's for shure, but that doesn't make him any less interesting.  :|

In my opinion, the first part of this doco about Bob Hawke was fair & balanced as most ABC productions are.

I look forward to part two next week.   :)

It could have been a good Q&A last night except for Van Badham who wanted to monopolise the whole program.

Don't invite her again please ABC.

I would vote for John Hewson if he was running today.

Rumpy, I agree with you 100%

Van Badham was a pain in the arse last night.

As for John Hewson, several times I've heard him described as the Best PM that we never had.  :)

I totally agree with the above comments re Stan Grant and Van Badham. I became exasperated with Stan Grant's style when he was on 7.30. Besides his introduction he repeatedly interrupted the interviewee to voice his own ideas. I stopped watching him. I've seen Van Badham on The Drum. She always has a lot to say and makes sure she gets time to say it all. Again, very irritating.

Controversial Sydney barrister Charles Waterstreet has withdrawn from Q&A's #MeToo special just three days after the ABC confirmed his appearance.

It still should be an interesting show, tonight on ABC TV.
