I suspect that Class will attract quite a lot of interest and discussion on the ABC Whovians website, so in anticipation of this happening I have set up a special discussion group for it.

Just finished watching the first two episodes on iView. There's perhaps a bit too much emphasis on blood and gore, but the series shows a lot of promise. The first two episodes were very similar to each other, so I hope that future episodes diversify a lot more. My favourite character .. definitely Miss Quill. 3 5 STARS.

Just seen them as well, and agree with Tardis re: blood and gore. I was quite surprised at how graphic it got actually. Thought the episodes themselves were fine; serviceable. My biggest problem thus far is with the actual premise, but I'll elaborate on that when everyone's seen it. 3/5 for me.

I agree with Tardis & Sonic, much more blood & gore than I expected for a show aimed at "young adults" We are not it Sara Jane's world folks. I rate Class Episode #1 at 3.5 and Episode #2 at 3 out of 5 Photons.

Ok. Thanks for the review. Looks like I am the only one not to have watched it yet. Very old school, me. Am waiting patiently for the 'over the air waves' transmission to occur tonight!

Just watched Class episodes One & Two again, no change to my ratings. Looking forward to episode Three next week. So who are the Governors? Anyone care to speculate ?

Well I've caught up with you all now. Sarah Jane4, it's you and me who are old school. It was pretty good, but WAY too gorey for me. I'm not sure if I'll keep watching.

Agreed with the comments on blood and gore, but overall I enjoyed it. I found how they were finding their way and Ram dealing with his experience/trauma realistic and done well.

Its an interesting thing is Class. The blood and gore is something you cant ignore and no doubt was fully intended to give it an edge. Too much? I think I will have to wait and see all of the episode run before I pass judgement on that aspect. But I did really enjoy Miss Quill - what a character and so well played. The kids were all well cast and the production values nice and high but getting the story balance right will make or break this show. I hope they can move away from the show just being a different monster to fight each week because that will get very boring very quickly. If they want to emulate success of shows like Buffy etc then they will need to ramp up the love interest so we will see. But I loved seeing Capaldi so I hope he makes another appearance at some point. 3.5 out of 5 so far for me. Glad some of the old schoolers are still about Patch!

I agreed with you SJ4 when you said " I hope they can move away from the show just being a different monster to fight each week " I think the mysterious Governors might prove to be an interesting sub-plot. Also who will replace the recently deceased school Head Master? As the students grow older and more experienced at Alien Fighting will they be drafted into UNIT? After all they can’t stay in high school forever.

Great points Photon and that is the kind of character and plot devleopment that the show will need to survive and in that vein I wonder how long before we permanently lose a cast member - I am predicting episode 7...:) And, hopefully for tie in reasons and to reward the fan base, that the Governors will either be an old enemy of the Doctor or perhaps a new breed which might appeal to the 12-18 demographic the show is aimed at - the long lost Weeping Teenagers.
